Denim and Mini Skirt

Haven't worn a mini skirt for a while. I always think of myself as a more jeans/pants type of girl. There are several reasons that I prefer something else over mini skirts, but there are also those days that I feel like I miss them. Maybe it's just myself, but I always find that the mix of denim and suede reminds me of cowboy's style. Sounds cliché, right?

wearing: H&M Wide Pants  | Mango Denim Shirt
ZAC Zac Posen Handbag (also available on The Outnet)
 Adidas Stan Smith SneakersUnknown Scarf

Remember this wide pants that I wore in "Wide Pants" post a while ago? This time I styled this pants with a more laid-back look - a pair of sneakers (or slip-ons if you prefer) definitely make it happen. I'm a firm believer that a pair of shoes can totally change the style of your outfits. The day was cold, so I wrapped around this soft scarf around my neck and tucked the ends into the loop, perfect for chill days. Well, now the weather is getting warmer, guess gotta prepare for summer outfits then :)

70's Flares

wearing: Paige Denim Flares (similar J Brand or MiH) | Mango Denim Shirt
Sophie Hulme Envelope Bag (also available on Net-A-Porter)
 Zara HeelsUrban Outfitters Hat

Flares.... just reminding me of childhood. I used to wear flares a lot at age of 12 or 13. It was a trend, but not for so long when skinny jeans had became everyone's new soul mate. After so many years, it feels pleasantly fresh to wear flares again. These babes from Paige Denim are super comfortable, and do a perfect job for elongating legs! Just need a black hat, and that 70's vibe is totally back. So would a pair of flares be your wardrobe staple for this year? I'm pretty sure it's to me now!

Vietnam Photo Diary

Everytime I think of Vietnam, I always have this image of overcast sky over the quiet paddy fields with a brisk wind trying to mess around with my hair. I wasn’t prepared for the coldness in Vietnam - bringing shorts and sandals was a completely wrong decision….. Despite the silly mistake, I actually enjoyed the entire 5-days trip with my family.

The most memorable part of this journey was climbing 427 steps to the peak of Dao Ti Top island while we were on a day trip in Ha Long Bay. The climb was sweaty, but definitely worth. Overlooking Ha Long Bay from there just made me forget how exhausted I was 5 minutes ago. The view was rewarding and breathtaking. I remember the sun finally showed up, which made the entire view even more stunning with light sunshine cutting through the cirrostratus cloud.

Before heading to Hanoi, we took a boat tour in Ngo Dong River to view Tam Cốc (it means “three caves”), which is described as an inland version of Ha Long Bay. It was a calm place where you can enjoy the nature surrounding you. On the other hand, Hanoi is completely opposite - it's bustling with motorbikes and overwhelming with people. My most favourite place in Hanoi is probably the Old Quarter - tons of different shops you can find in here. Just wish I had more time to explore (getting lost there is easy...).

The only thing I’m missing from Vietnam currently is Pho! It’s definitely better than any dish I’ve had in Vancouver - not saying it’s bad in Vancouver but how can you compare when you’re in the place where they serve the “authentic” Pho?!

Hope you’re enjoying these photos… I’ll be travelling soon to Tokyo (who might be there?! Maybe we can meet up!) in less than 2 months and I’m super looking forward to it! Between, I will be selling some of my stuffs on Depop so be sure to check out (I'll start taking photos when the weather is nicer)! Enjoy your weekend everyone!
